Dec. 26th was my Mom and Dad's Anniversary. Can you imagine getting married the day after Christmas. I'm sure Mom wished she had picked a different date. Talk about combined gifts. I'm sure there were a lot of that. They were married Dec. 26, 1940. Different times for sure. Mom talked about going to her Mom and asking her to write a note to give her permission for them to marry as Mom was only 17, in fact she had just had a birthday the month before (Nov. 3). I just realized how young she really was. My Dad was 21 and would be 22 April 13. What was my Grandma thinking letting her run around with an older guy?
Well, just wanted to rap up 2009. We have added things to our home and made plans for a garden outside as well as a greenhouse to experiment with for the new year. You know they say if you plant a garden you plan on being here to harvest so I've decided I'm having a garden every year. Ha!
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Don't do anything you wouldn't want to see as Headlines in the morning paper. I guess now you you would say, on utube, myspace, facebook or someones blog. Have a safe and happy Holiday.
